Whom We Serve

The ultimate target of the EHDI system are all children and their families, whether they are infants receiving newborn hearing screening and follow-up services or older children up to five years of age receiving hearing screening and follow-up services through early childhood. With the child and family at the center of the EHDI system, maintaining and improving EHDI systems of care requires the coordinated work of a child’s medical home (Primary Care Provider), audiologists, other health care providers and specialists, early intervention programs, family support programs, public health departments, early childhood programs, and many others. The EHDI NTRC targets its activities and resources to all of these stakeholders.
